How much porn do you need
Well you probably know how this is going to turn out, another person talking about porn. Don’t worry this will be fun and educational. While I was tooting around online looking at cool websites, I came across a church on the web XXX (don’t worry, it’s not porn)
And I found myself really digging what their message was. Of course the site is glitzy and glammy but there is an inherent truth about it, that God wants people to be free of this porn thing. When is enough, enough. When will we as humans let go of this feeling we get when looking at naked people. Granted men have a harder time with it than women, but never fear, they are catching up. If you are a pastor, if you breathe, then there has been a time when you were faced with that twinge in your head that tells you “Hey go look at some porn and make it speedy.” Then you have to either give in or mount up and beat the thought with a hefty stick. I have been there, many times, gone through all the motions we good Christians do when we have a one time mess up or are dealing with a lot of it. Got to say that none of it helped. I felt better afterward but it didn’t stop me from going there again. I think I found the reason though.
We like to look at it.
PORN is pleasing, fun, and fantastically exciting. Pretty much the funnest thing to look at. Give a man an a alien to look at or a naked lady and guess what he’s going to be looking at. But give it a nanosecond to register about messing up and all its glamour just fades away.
All the cool things you felt while looking at it, the feelings of pleasure from masturbating….all of that gives you nothing, the high is gone. Then you ask for forgiveness and however silly it seems you hope God doesn’t hurt you in some way and try to start over but the next time that little voice pops up you are faced with the decision again. This is not saying that you can’t be free from the hold porn can get on you but you will have to deal with it from time to time, especially when you are married and things aren’t so hot between you and your spouse, and fighting is all that you seem to do. It’s then that PORN looks the best, cause it’s the easy way out, just go find some, do your deed and then go get saved again. Why do we look for the easy way out, when we know we will have to deal with the hard things anyways. So if you are at the point where you might mess up, push the panic button and get the heck out of dodge because Porn has fangs, and they are sharp.

Kung Fu + Pacifism
While I can not take credit for this saying, although I think I encouraged it, my good friend Paul Carlson came up with it, so Paul let it be known that I am giving credit to you and your genius. Now consequently this saying doesn

I’m Listening
Sometimes we have a call on our heart that is not to be left unfulfilled. When God tells us to do something, it is our responsibility to do it- even if it means dropping everything.
So here I am, sitting in the office of sermonade.com wondering what God will bring me next. It has been my dream and passion to work in the field of video for a very long time and God has blessed me with a job that enables me to do that in a christian environment. He also just recently pulled me out of a downward spiral with alcoholism and he has been molding and shaping me ever since.
Through recent events in the Gulf Coast I have really been spending a lot of time with the Lord, and he has blessed me with joy that can not be explained. He has also made it very clear to me that I need to go and help. I was a little taken back by that, but I know that there was no going around it and I just have to keep faith and God will take care of me. So I prayed and asked God to provide me a way of getting there. I called the local Red Cross and got no answer, so I left a message. A few days later I received a voicemail from someone at the Red Cross letting me know that I was signed up for training on October 19th and would be deploying a few days later. I hadn’t even spoken directly with them and I was already signed up to go. So now he’s provided me with a way to get there and I’m preparing to go. I knew that I would have to give up my job to do this, and everything else I’m involved in, but I have amazing peace about it.
Right before writing this I had called the Red Cross to talk to them about what I need to bring and so forth. They also told me what I’m going to be doing. I’m going to be staying in one of the emergency shelters and care for the evacuees in them.
So I’m going, and if I have internet access (not likely) where I’m staying I will keep you posted.
Please keep the Gulf Coast in your prayers…

n life there are many things that preclude you from belief. Things that break you down and steal any joy that you had, situations you wish you were never put in, and trials that seem to be smashing onto your back like waves. It is at these moments that you intently look at your faith and see if it is really what it is cracked up to be.
No matter how free you felt, how at peace you were with the fact that you are in God
